An exceptional pianist, Eva possesses tremendous charisma, steely technique, keen musical intelligence and distinct performance style.
She has the abilities to perceive the meaning of the music and to illustrate each note with her own interpretation. Her perception also enables the audience to better understand the essence of the music she performs.
Making her concerto debut playing Tchaikovsky first piano concerto with National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra in 2001 under the Hungarian conductor Tamás Gál, Eva remains a sought after and active soloist and chamber musician touring the major cities of France, Germany, Canada, Austria, Spain, Macao, China and Taiwan.
Eva has appeared at prestigious venues as a solist around the world including National Concert Hall (Taipei), Wiener Saal (Salzburg), Disney Hall (Los Angeles), Gasteig (Munich), Konzerthaus (Berlin), Salle Pierre-Mercure (Montreal), Richard Jakoby Saal (Hannover), Der Musikalische Sommer in Ostfriesland and The International Holland Music Sessions. She has also played with Brandenburg Symphoniker, Hannover New Music Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre Nouvelle Génération Montreal , Moldova Philharmonic Iași , Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Tainan Symphony Orchestra , Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra and Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra.
Highlights in the 2014/15 seasons include her recital debuts at Philharmonic “Gasteig” Munich, Zhuhai Opera House in China and Cultural Centre Macau. She appears first time at Brandenburger Theater Germany, performing Rachmaninoff Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with Brandenburg Symphoniker. Elsewhere she played Olivier Messiaen’s Couleurs de la Cité celeste in the historic Mark Kirche with Neu Musik Orchestra in Hannover, Chamber music project in the famous Munich Philharmonic "Black Box”.
During 2015/2016 seasons She is invited to premiere the most famous German composer Christian Jost’s piano suite in Berlin Konzerthaus, Munich Gasteig, and Hamburg Laeiszhalle; also invited as a guest soloist in Bad Kissingen Festival and Beijing NCPA festival.
2016/2017 seasons she played Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.3 with Iasi Philharmonic Orchestra, Tainan Symphony Orchestra and Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra with huge success.
Her acclaimed debut recording is an all-Scriabin Preludes CD and was released in 2014 on the Taiwanese label Bel Canto, and nominated in Taiwan’s 2015 Golden Melody Award for Best Classical Album of the Year.
Born in Taiwan, Eva devoted herself to musical studies since the age of six and made her professional solo recital debut at the age of fourteen. She studied under Mikhail Kollontay for her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance at the National Tainan University of the Arts in Taiwan. In 2006, she moved to Canada to continue her musical studies with the legendary — Dang Thai Son for her Master degree and Artist diploma at Université de Montréal. She recently completed her study under the world-renowned Bernd Goetzke for "Konzertexamen" at the prestigious Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany.
Winning multiple awards for her playing, Eva also has the distinction of being the only person to receive, “The Cultural Youth Ambassador Music Talent Awards” from the Taiwanese government for seven years in a row between 2004 and 2011. Awards include, Winner of 18th ChiMei cultural foundation's Artistic Talent Award, Silver medal at the IX International Piano competition of Escaldes Engordany in Spain, third prize at “Le festival de Musique Classique” in Canada, and an Honorable Mention at the 2013 San Jose international piano competition in the USA. She was often interviewed and broadcast by Canada CBC Radio, Taiwan IC Broadcasting Company, and other radio networks.
She has had the pleasure of working closely with such distinguished and esteemed musicians like Vladimir Tropp, José Feghali, Boris Petrushansky, Dominique Merlet, Dimitri Bashkirov and Sergei Babayan.
Eva is frequently invited to give lectures and master classes, as well as to judge in the piano competitions. She is the founder and the Artistic Director of Zhuhai International Music Festival & Academy in China . Since 2017 She has been the Artist Director in Tainan Art Festival in Taiwan and the Music Faculty in Czech Ameropa International Chamber Music Festival .
Apart from being a concert pianist, Eva also shows a tremendous amount of interest and talent in film art. She made an appearance in short films titled “In the Depth of the Summer,” and “Lilya’s Voice Diary.” In the end of 2010, Eva composed the film score for a Canadian short film “Une Chanson D’Hiver”. In 2016, she is again invited to compose music for the Canadian Chinese co-production film, "Un Printemps d’Ailleurs".
Eva is currently living in Berlin.
